Often in doing this work, obstacles seem to appear that are far greater than our abilities to solve or overcome them. Many times the solution is not so obvious, but can be simpler than we ever thought possible. Here is a story about such an incident.
Looking to capitalize on Houdini's immense popularity and fame, a London bank challenged him to break out of their vault with its new, state-of-the-art locking system. They were CERTAIN that even the great Houdini would finally meet his match.
Houdini accepted, and on the appointed date, the press turned out in droves to see if the master could get out in the three and a half minutes allotted.
This time he got to keep his clothes on. But he had another trick up his sleeve!
His contracts always specified that before he disappeared into the trunk or cell or behind a small curtain (when performing on a stage), he could kiss his wife. After all, many of his feats were seriously dangerous, so who could refuse the couple what might turn out to be their last goodbye?
But what no one knew was that he was getting more than a kiss! As their lips met, his wife would secretly pass a small piece of wire from her mouth to his. Then, once he was alone or hidden behind the curtain, he'd use the wire to pick the locks.
This time out, though, the wire didn't seem to be doing the trick. Here's what Houdini wrote about that experience ...
"After one solid minute, I didn't hear any of the familiar clicking sounds. I thought, my gosh, this could ruin my career, I'm at the pinnacle of fame, and the press is all here.
"After two minutes, I was beginning to sweat profusely because I was not getting this lock picked.
"After three minutes of failure, with thirty seconds left, I inadvertently reached into my pocket to get a handkerchief and dry my hands and forehead, and when I did, I leaned against the vault door and it creaked open."
And there you have it, my friend. The door was never locked! But because Harry BELIEVED it to be locked, it might as well have been. Only the "accident" of leaning on the door changed that belief and saved his career.
It's the same way with all of us. The things we believe to be insurpassable barriers, obstacles, and problems are just like the bank vault door. The only lock is in our minds, and as long as we simply believe that we CAN'T, well, we can't.
But when we give the door a push we can be amazed to find that not only is the door not locked to us, there's really no door at all, just the illusion of one.
We can all be master magicians. All we have to do is face whatever barrier seems to be looming before us, then take the first step, give the door a shove. The biggest obstacles are the ones we have created ourselves in our minds, and when we give our focus, faith, and feeling to them, THEY become our vision — and then they become real.
In his amazing forgotten classic from 1910, The Science of Getting Rich, author Wallace Wattles advises us that "You cannot retain a true and clear vision of wealth if you are constantly turning your attention to opposing pictures, either external or imaginary."
And he offers this encouragement, too: "No matter how tremendous an obstruction may appear at a distance, you will find that if you continue in the certain way, it will disappear as you approach it — or that a way over, through, or around it will appear."
What SEEMINGLY locked door is towering before you today, keeping you from your heart's desire? Perhaps is isn't even locked.

What the Young Man Heard

In the latter half of the 1800s, when the telegraph was still "high tech," a young man in Baltimore, Maryland, woke up one summer morning giddy with excitement. In fact, it had taken him half the night to get to sleep at all.
Today was the day he'd apply for his first job! But what was really exciting was that, if he were lucky enough to be chosen for the position, he'd actually be getting PAID for something that absolutely enthralled him. He'd be a real, bona fide telegraph operator!
His mind was so filled with wonderful pictures of himself sending and receiving important messages, communicating with people miles away — even clear across the country — that the possibility of NOT getting the job couldn't get a foot in the door.
He didn't even mind wearing a stiff collar and tie. After all, this was an important job, and he liked the idea of looking the part. Giving his shoes one last buffing, he dashed out the door and raced downtown to the telegraph office.
Inside, the office was already bustling with activity and noise, including the sound of the telegraph clattering away in the background. Several other applicants were seated in the waiting area, hunched over paperwork. Our young man saw a stack of job applications with a sign instructing candidates to take one, fill it out, and then wait to be called into the Director's office for an interview. So he eagerly grabbed one and sat down.
The form itself took only a few minutes to complete, and as he finished and started to look around at the other job hopefuls in the room ...
... the young man suddenly jumped from his chair and with his paperwork in hand, marched over to the Director's office door and went right in without even knocking!
"Did you see that?" one of the other jobseekers snorted. "We're supposed to wait until we're called, and that rube barges in like he owns the place."
"Yeah, that's some nerve, but it just cuts down the competition," said another, and they all laughed.
Moments later the laughter and comments stopped as the Director's door opened and both he and the beaming young man came out into the waiting area.
"Gentlemen," the Director said, "thank you for coming, and I wish you all well. The job has been filled."
Stunned into silence, no one said anything for a moment. Then, the fellow who had started the derisive comments sputtered, "Now wait a minute. This isn't fair! We were here first but we never even got a chance, and he gets the job just like that?"
The others grumbled in agreement, but the Director put up his hand. "Here's the thing," he said.
"All this time you were sitting here, the telegraph has been clicking away, saying: 'If you can understand this, come on into the office right now. You've got the job.'
As he clapped his hand on the young man's shoulder, he smiled broadly and said, "This young fellow was the only one of you who heard or understood the message."
Why did this young man alone hear and understand the message?
Listen to what Scottish psychologist R. D. Laing had to say on this subject:
"The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change -- until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds."

The Path to Oneness

The Path to Oneness

Since the dawn of the mists of time, you have had one great soul urge, and that is to reunite with the spiritual source from which you came. Along the way, you have realized that this means reaching out in spiritual service to mankind. Along the way, you have sensed that this giving of spiritual service is the very action which leads you along the pathway back to that from which you came.
By becoming your brother's keeper in a spiritual way, you become more at one with all people and the source from which we all came. Through service to others, you also serve your own spiritual development. By loving and healing them through the use of spiritual energy, you help the spiritually blind to see the light within, you help the spiritually deaf to hear the whisperings of their souls, and you help the spiritually numb to revitalize their connection with God.
By sending them your love, by sending them your light, by helping them with this precious, spiritual energy of love and light, you heal their hearts, you heal their spirits, you heal their long-suffering souls, and you help them back onto the one great path back to Source, which we all yearn to tread.
That path is the road to reconnection to the Spirit within. That path is the one which brings you into conscious contact with the light within. That path is the reason you are here, the reason you chose to be born into a world where people feel disconnected from that very Source.
The details of how that path unfolds are unique for every individual. We all tread this path in our own way to reach the common goal of reconnection with the flame of the Spirit which shines within our hearts. It is this flame which silently beckons us on. It is this flame which lights the darkness in a world of great suffering. It is this flame which connects our souls to the one Source of all things.
When you go into the silence of meditation, even for a few moments, remember to end your session by helping the world. Dedicate your love and your light to world peace and freedom, then send this out from your heart into a world that desperately needs energy in a spiritual form.
Life energy is everywhere. Spiritually-conditioned life energy is in short supply because few people take the time to condition it with their intentions and send it out to heal the world. Once you condition the energy of life with love and light and send it out to the world, it reverberates within the global mind atmosphere of humanity, healing and uplifting many people. Its higher frequency imbues it with enormous power relative to the regular, everyday thoughts of mankind. The power of spiritual energy is such that it affects, not one, but hundreds of people at the same time.
Every time you send out love and light in dedication to world peace and freedom for all, you help hundreds of people to see life and its possibilities from a higher perspective.
When you intentionally heal the world in this way, you help many people who are not yet consciously aware of how to raise themselves up spiritually. These are people who are relying upon the enlightened vision of people like you, so that they may be helped in taking the next step into higher consciousness. So that they may be comforted and healed. So that they may gain their own conscious inner reconnection to the one Spirit from which they once came, so long ago, in the mists of time.

What are you Worth?
HMMMMM? The wheels are turning....
Many people I talk to have no clue what they are worth to themselves, or what value THEY have to this world. What is your value, what are your gifts worth? Do you know what your gifts are?
If you don't know, you need to know.
If it very difficult to believe in yourself, when you don’t know what you are worth, and you don’t feel valuable to others. It is time to know and feel your worth.
Each of us has been given gifts, we were born with them. When we know what they are and use them, we then will understand this process. Many times our gifts were made fun of, or we were told that we had no value, and would never amount to anything.
Remember Mother Teresa, her legacy is known throughout the world, and yet the most powerful thing she did was to just use the gifts that God gave her. Giving care and love to the sick and poor, she changed the lives of millions of people. She simply was who God meant her to be, and in that became her Magnificent self.
So it isn't always about being the best, or the most famous. Sometimes the simplest gifts can be the most profound.
It may be that all you have to do is smile at people when you pass them. If that is your gift you will change the world, and yourself. It is your job to discover what your gift is, and use it.
This is what Jesus was talking about when he said seek first the Kingdom of God and all other things will be added to YOU! The kingdom is within yourself, and it is your gifts, your connection to source, your acknowledgement of your own Worth!
When you reach this place, you will allow all that you need and want to be delivered to you, as you use your gifts, those who want and need them will be drawn to you like a magnet and abundance will flow in you r life.
Remember you have to give to receive, Asking God to give you money, health or other things without being willing to give something back ( your Gifts) slows down the delivery time. If you want overnight delivery :-) then you have to give first, use your talents, and embrace your worth. BE what you want to become. The rest will take care of itself.

Inspiration

Anything that you can imagine is yours to be or do or have. As you ask yourself why you want it, the essence of your desire is activated, and the Universe begins to bring it to you. The more intense your positive feelings, the faster it is coming to you. (It is as easy to create a castle as a button.)"
Since Every Request Is Granted, There Is No Competition
Each point of view matters; every request is granted; and as this amazing Universe unerringly expands, there is no end to the Universal resources that fulfill these requests. And there is no end to the answers to the never-ending stream of questions—and for that reason, there is no competition.
It is not possible for someone else to receive the resources that were meant for you, and you cannot selfishly squander resources that were intended for someone else. All desires are answered; all requests are granted, and no one is left unanswered, unloved, or unfulfilled. When you stay aligned with your Energy Stream, you always win, and somebody else does not have to lose for you to win. There is always enough.
Sometimes our physical friends have a difficult time remembering this truth because they may experience some shortage in their experience, or observe it in the experience of another. But what they are witnessing is not an evidence of shortage or a lack of resources, but instead the disallowance of the receiving of the resources that have been requested and answered.
Step 1 has occurred: The asking is in place.
Step 2 has occurred: The answering is in place.
But Step 3, the allowing, has not occurred.
If someone is not receiving what they are asking for, it is not because there is a shortage of resources; it can only be that the person holding the desire is out of alignment with their own request. There is no shortage. There is no lack. There is no competition for resources. There is only the allowing or the disallowing of that which you are asking for.
In her book Everything Is Working for Good, popular Spritualist writer Mary Kupferle writes, "Take time to be quiet, to be still and contemplate the Truth that God's love is right there with you, that God's light is now shining throughout your mind to reveal what you need to see and know. Listen within and let God's wisdom gently turn your thoughts over and over until the questions become answers, the doubts become newborn faith. You will see that everything has been and is working for your good."
As you let go and let God, always remember that God's presence within is your constant source of Hope and Love. The following affirmations will help you refocus during difficult times. Repeat them silently or aloud and feel the Peace of God embracing you:God is the source of limitless good that is continually blessing me.
I am flexible as I allow God's plan to emerge and evolve.
I let go and let my faith in God carry me through.
With a silent, heartfelt prayer, I let go and let God heal my relationships.
I let go and let God, knowing that the source of all good is in charge.

Surrender
How to Surrender -
I read recently about being a VIP and how it relates to surrender. Who do you think is the most powerful person in a limousine? The chauffer or the VIP in the back seat? Yes the chauffer gets to drive, and may make some decisions regarding which road to take or how fast to go, but ultimately the VIP decides where to go and when, He then sits backs and trusts the chauffer will take him where he wants to go.
He doesn’t, lean up over the seat and give directions, tell the chauffer where to go, or to slow down, or where to park. The VIP doesn’t ask the chauffer why he takes a certain road, nor does he fret about the details of the trip. He trusts the chauffeur, and by surrendering he allows the process to work, and yet in that he doesn’t give up any of HIS POWER to the chauffer.
So we often want to be the VIP and yet decide that being the chauffer is more to our liking. We can’t trust the process, and in doing so disempower ourselves to a great degree, we want to be the VIP, AND the chauffer. In doing so we actually give up the luxury and power that only comes from sitting in the back seat and allowing the process to work.
So knowing what our job is and understanding how to let go of what we “think” is right or correct is our challenge. So often I talk to people who are literally trapped in their own fear, that they are unable and unwilling to let go of past conditioning, old beliefs and unresolved issues. This prevents the very growth and movement that they stated they desired in the first place. When I suggest they get in the back seat and become a VIP they panic, gripping the steering wheel tightly, they simply cannot relinquish the need to control every facet of life.
Becoming a VIP does not mean giving up your power, it means knowing and understanding how to use power. I have never heard of a chauffer abusing a VIP (even if they don’t like the person). IN reality even though the chauffer is driving the limo, he has no power to make decisions. This subtle insight may be the simple step missing in your journey. When you relax sit back and trust that all you want and need is being given to you and that you don’t need to control every detail, you will find the Joy and ease of life.
I recently watched the movie “Into the Wild”. A very powerful and moving story about a young man who is trying to unravel his childhood conditioning and find his own truth, which he eventually does, but it is too late, and the result is catastrophic. Unfortunately he had no guide or coach, (which is what our parents could do for us, but often don’t because they are trapped in their own nonsense) Hence the reason I have repeatedly recommended working with a good coach or guide to move through the maze of growth and change, along with a good support group.
