MORE insights about Thoughts and the Mind

.
From The Master Key...

Every thought sets the brain cells in action; at first the substance upon which the thought is directed fails to respond, but if the thought is sufficiently refined and concentrated, the substance finally yields and expresses perfectly.

This influence of the mind can be exerted upon any part of the body, causing the elimination of any undesirable effect.

A perfect conception and understanding of the laws governing in the mental world cannot fail to be of inestimable value in the transaction of business, as it develops the power of discernment and gives a clearer understanding and appreciation of facts.

The man who looks within instead of without cannot fail to make use of the mighty forces which will eventually determine his course in life and so bring him into vibration with all that is best, strongest and most desirable.

Attention or concentration is probably; the most important essential in the development of mind culture. The possibilities of attention when properly directed are so startling that they would hardly appear credible to the uninitiated. The cultivation of attention is the distinguishing characteristic of every successful man or woman, and is the very highest personal accomplishment which can be acquired.

The power of attention can be more readily understood by comparing it with a magnifying glass in which the rays of sunlight are focused; they possess no particular strength as long as the glass is moved about and the rays directed from one place to another; but let the glass be held perfectly still and let the rays be focused on one spot for any length of time, the effect will become immediately
apparent.

So with the power of thought; let power be dissipated by scattering the thought from one object to another, and no result is apparent; but focus this power through attention or concentration on any single purpose for any length of time and nothing becomes impossible.

A very simple remedy for a very complex situation, some will say. All right, try it, you who have had no experience in concentrating the thought on a definite purpose or object. Choose any single object and concentrate your attention on it for a definite purpose for even ten minutes; you cannot do it; the mind will wander a dozen times and it will be necessary to bring it back to the original purpose, and each time the effect will have been lost and at the end of the ten minutes nothing will have been gained, because you have not been able to hold your thought steadily to the purpose.

It is, however, through attention that you will finally be able to overcome obstacles of any kind that appear in your path onward and upward, and the only way to acquire this wonderful power is by practice -- practice makes perfect, in this as in anything else.

Man is so constituted that he must first create the tools, or implements by which he gains the power to think. The mind cannot comprehend an entirely new idea until a corresponding vibratory brain cell has been prepared to receive it. This explains why it is so difficult for us to receive or appreciate an entirely new idea; we have no brain cell capable of receiving it; we are therefore incredulous; we do not believe it.

You will readily see that what we think determines the quality of mind, and that the quality of mind in turn determines our ability and mental capacity, and you can readily understand that the improvement in our ability will naturally be followed by increase in attainment and a greater control of circumstances

Inspiration is the art of imbibing, the art of self-realization; the art of adjusting the individual mind to that of the Universal Mind; the art of attaching the proper mechanism to the source of all power; the art of differentiating the formless into form; the art of becoming a channel for the flow of Infinite Wisdom; the art of visualizing perfection; the art of realizing the omnipresence of Omnipotence.

An understanding and appreciation of the fact that the infinite power is omnipresent and is therefore in the infinitely small as well as the infinitely large will enable us to absorb its essence; a further understanding of the fact that this power is spirit and therefore indivisible will enable us to appreciate its present at all points at the same time.

An understanding of these facts, first intellectually and then emotionally, will enable us to drink deeply from this ocean of infinite power. An intellectual understanding will be of no assistance; the emotions must be brought into action;
thought without feeling is cold. The required combination is thought and feeling.

Inspiration is from within. The Silence is necessary, the senses must be stilled, the muscles relaxed, repose cultivated. When you have thus come into possession of a sense of poise and power you will be ready to receive the information or inspiration or wisdom which may be necessary for the development of your purpose.

Do not confuse these methods with those of the clairvoyant; they have nothing in common. Inspiration is the art of receiving and makes for all that is best in life; your business in life is to understand and command these invisible forces instead of letting them command and rule you. Power implies service; inspiration implies power; to understand and apply the method of inspiration is to become a superman.

We can live more abundantly every time we breathe, if we consciously breathe with that intention. The IF is a very important condition in this case, as the intention governs the attention, and without the attention you can secure only the results which every one else secures. That is, a supply equal to the demand.

Radical thoughts about the Mind

.

I have become acutely aware of how powerful thoughts are and the inability of most people to control their own mind. So I have decided to share some of what I have discovered about the mind, the brain and the power of thoughts.

For those of you who do not know me, I dealt with severe depression for a long time. It took me to the brink of suicide, ended a relationship and I was fired from several jobs. In desperation I searched for answers, even though I was blinded by my own internal demons and pain.

Most of the people I asked recommended using drugs, which I tried, but found made me feel worse. Finally I found a small book that gave me the answer I was looking for. It is based on the Power of Now and controlling your mind. In one weekend I learned how to get control of my mind, and stop it from controlling me. The result was I have not been controlled by depression or any other internal or external influence since.

Do I still feel sad, or lonely at times? Absolutely! But also feel happy, joyful, silly and laugh a lot. One feeling isn't better or worse, I can feel whatever is appropriate at the time, honor those feelings and go on.

The trap is when the feelings begin to generate thoughts, and the mind feeds them and soon thoughts generate more feelings, and the cycle of creating thoughts and feelings about the situation soon takes over your your entire being.

In this state you have no control over the mind, you are totally at the mercy of your thoughts and feelings with no way to change them. This results in an ever downward spiraling into the depths of extremely painful experiences.

Not everyone is affected in this way by their mind or their thoughts, but I have found that most people are unable to control their minds or their thoughts.

I began this post in an attempt to share how your mind is affected by your thoughts.

The amazing thing is that the thoughts you have can prevent you from even understanding this principle. As your beliefs, and your paradigms can deeply affect what you think an dhow you use your mind.

Therefore you are the only one who can change your mind, your beliefs, your thoughts, and your paradigms.

In essence the mind is the engine that runs all of these factors. You have to choose to change any and all of these by using your mind. If you do not have control of your mind, which most people do not, you will be open and vulnerable to any and all influences from other people, marketing, teachings that are based on other peoples beliefs and paradigms.

Here is what I have found that works best. When you find your mind dwelling on a certain subject or thought, you have to consciously bring your thoughts and your mind into the current moment. This is accomplished by stating to your mind Be Right Here Right Now,and keep doing that until you have control of your mind. This is so that your thoughts attention and consciousness are all focused on this moment right now. You may have to do this over and over until you are able to maintain your consciousness in the present moment.

Outrageous Courage

.

Today it was revealed to me in my meditation that although many take the steps to change their lives, read books, buy programs and attend workshops, they are STUCK. Many are unable to produce the results that are promised in the materials they use. So they simply buy another book or program, which ends up with the same results.

One of the most critical KEYS in getting what you want is courage. YOU must find the courage to decide that you are going to change. Then you must apply the warriors preparation (see my previous post on that subject).

This means leaving behind all of the known solutions, beliefs and paradigms. For most that is more difficult to do as we often are unable to define our own belief systems or paradigms as they are so familiar and powerful.

Here is an email I received from Joe Vitale yesterday -

When people ask me how I went from
homeless to bestselling author, all I can tell them is I never let go of my dream and I persistently and relentlessly worked toward making it a reality.

And I worked at my dream while I was homeless, in poverty, struggling with no job at all or jobs I hated so bad I cried driving to and from them.

I never gave up.

I kept going to the library, kept reading self-help and self-improvement books, and kept applying what I read.

It all helped me.

But it wasn't enough.

I needed something more.

The giant breakthrough came when I got
a personal coach.

I wrote about this in my book, "The Attractor Factor," and I've told the story many times.

While you'll grow with books and audios -- and you should keep reading them as nourishment for your mind and soul -- the dramatic leaps to new levels will come more easily and quickly with a coach.

So you see even the most advanced gurus required help from an outside source. Let me explain the reasons.

1. It is extremely difficult to see your own reflection regarding your beliefs and paradigms.

2. We often resist changing what is familiar, and even if changes are made they are difficult to maintain.

3. Without understanding the mind, knowing how to control it and having the tools and awareness to push ourselves into unknown energy patterns we almost always slingshot back to the pain of the familiar.

4. A Good coach is simply there to keep you focused, reveal the traps and guide you to your own greatness. A coach that tells you they have the truth and the only truth is going to lead you into their own paradigms, which does not help you very much. So pay attention to that as well.

Courage is required on every step -choosing to change, trusting in a coach to help you, deciding to leave the pain of the familiar, and being able to hold the desire long enough for it to manifest.

If you haven't watched it yet go rent "The Pursuit of Happyness"
it is a perfect demonstration of commitment and courage under the most discouraging circumstances you can imagine and its a true story.

So where are you today? Are you ready to begin?

It requires your choice, no one else can decide for you...

I will help you in any way I can, I have lived through a lot of dysfunctional situations that have taught me many things. I only teach what I have learned, therefore I won't ask you to do anything I haven't had to do myself.
